Some sewing,some playing it forward...

First up the sewing...

Row # 12 ~ sewing baskets ~  Although with this being Easter month,I am calling mine Easter Baskets!

All twelve rows, this is going to be such a sweet quilt!

I should have titled this post Lori Made me Do it!  I subscribe to her blog, and so get her posts directly in my email box.  When this post showed up I was hooked, and after printing out the tutorial, ran (really) to my sewing room to make my first barn attend my first ever barn raising ;0)  Want to make some of your very own?  It is only one barn every other week, very doable right?  Right!

No more waiting for the perfect project for my sew mama sew charm pack!  Since the quilts on the sides of the barns are 6.5 inch squares  this will work great!

My bee blocks for this month are churn dash, which surprisingly enough, were a first time to make for me!

Although Green is my favorite color, the first block is my absolute favorite of the two,now if I just knew what the paisley print was... would love more of it.

Lastly, but certainly not least,my second pin cushion for my swap partner,Shanna !  This is one of my pins that I can mark off as made :0)  Even though it looks pretty complicated,it really wasn't.  The hard part for me was finding the candle stick!

Playing it forward ~ My Way ~

No rules,No hoops, just a handmade goodie from me to you!  The one and only catch/rule is that you have to send me your snail mail info when I email you the request for it ;0)  Oh,also please leave me your email addy,if you are a No Reply blogger... Or I will not be able to contact you :(

First 5 commenters will receive something small or big from me sometime in the next year!

Done & Done

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!  This past week was not such a great one,but my weekend is making up for it so far!  On the sewing front, anyway :)

Finally the two Granny Square Throw tops done!  Mr. P's on the left and mine on the right :)

Oh Happy Day!  Here is a shot of quilting in progress...As I type this up Mr. P is enjoying his throw, and mine is in the dryer :@)

While deleting old photos from my computer recently,I realized that although this was sent off to my PIF recipient a couple of months ago, along with a smaller pouch that is not in the photo,it never made it into a post!  So decided to include it in this one.  She loves to enjoy tea,so I thought that this fabric was rather appropriate :)  Hope she is enjoying them!

Yay,squishie mail!

First up is this Super Cool Zip bag and a smaller snap pouch
too!
Isn't this awesome fabric?  I love how Melissa at sewbittersweetdesigns
combined all this different fabric to make this zip bag :)

This is the other side of the zip bag.  I really love how you could
have either side be the front side,as they are both equally beautiful.
Even tho this side has more green,I love both sides and can not
pick a favorite!
So I guess the whole bag is my favorite :)

The little snap pouch has 3 different spaces for cards, such as
credit cards,or loyalty cards.  Melissa added decorative stitching
on the edge of each slot.  She used a pearl snap too!

I signed up for her Pay ~ It ~ Forward a while back ago and had
forgotten about it!
I on the other hand will probably not be able to get to my Pay ~ It ~ Forward
until after the first of the new year when things slow down :(
However I will get to it!

This is my second squishie that was in the box today!
It is my second block for October from the Christmas Block
Swap/Exchange that I joined here  Come join the party!

I am so happy with this block,I just love how the geese draw
your eye into the center of the block!  Also this will go nicely
with the other blocks as the colors in the other blocks are
also blue,silver and white.  :)

This is the first block that I sent out this month.  my partner
received it today,so I can now show it off here :)
She wanted traditional Christmas colors and,she also requested
this specific block pattern.

!@*!! Thieves

This morning when I went outside to look at my beautiful
sunflowers,I made a Rotten Discovery!!!
My Car doors were open wide (I always Lock my car, even at
home in the driveway) it was hot yesterday so I left my windows
down about 3 inches.
My Bad :(
Now some Thieve is the new owner of my
I Pod,Garmin,Cell phone car charger & All the cords that go with
them!!!
Thankfully Mr. P (who doesn't lock his truck, but will be doing so from now on)
didn't have anything of real value in his truck to be Stolen, other than his
Mag-Light flashlight. :(

So Please learn from my mistake (even tho I locked my car)
Always Lock your vehicle and Roll up the windows (even if its 100 degrees out)!
No matter where you are parked!!!

Now I am sitting here waiting for the Police to get off their coffee & doughnut
break and show up to take a report.  (called them a couple of hours ago)
And in a town this small, you would think that they would be here a whole
lot sooner.

Hope everyone is having a much better start to the weekend than I am :)

I still have 2 spots open in my Pay ~ It ~ Forward
Is my sewing/crafting that bad?  Or are my followers
just to busy?

~ Pay It Forward ~

1. I will make a handmade something for 3 readers of my blog- (if you would like to participate in the Pay it Forward, ie: you would like to get something handmade from me, you must leave me a comment telling me that you would like to participate). I will send 3 readers something that I have made, without warning within 365 days. (Pinky swear). (You can put your hand down now).
2. So, in order for you to get something from me- you have to say that you will do the same for 3 readers of your blog, so, it follows that you should have a blog if we want to keep this "paying forward" unbroken.
3. When you receive your handmade item (from me) you MUST post about what you received on your blog, and put a picture of the Pay it Forward button in your post. (You can copy and paste it from this post or the link back posts).

This last part is optional, but would be fun- If you like, you can post pictures and your thoughts about what you send to the 3 people who will received something from you on your blog as well. Just give it a few days to travel in the mail. You wouldn't want to ruin the surprise.

So, I will be happy to send something handmade to the first 3 followers that leave me a comment saying they are willing to do the same (Pay it Forward). Commenters, you need to have a blog- and PLEASE - NO, no- reply bloggers, by definition, I won't be able to contact you,  …...remember if I'm making and sending you something I'll need your address and if I can't get ahold of you, well then….. Please don't put your address in your comment unless you are comfortable with the 62 people who follow my blog knowing where you live. If I am going to send you something I will reply to your comment and get your info.  Knowing me, like I do, I won't be able to wait 365 days, but I promise to adhere to the "not telling" you it's on the way so that you will be surprised when it arrives.
I hope there are 3 other creative bloggers out there who will join me!

The photo at the top of the page is my Pay ~ It ~ forward from Spontaneous Threads
Thank you so much S! I love it :)

Lunch bag for Jolene & posie patch fabric

If anyone is interested I am still needing
2 more followers to post a comment here
to be included in my Pay it forward.
Here is Jolene's finished lunch bag.  Saturday I got up early and was
able to get this made before we headed up to Denver to help Jolene
& her DH pack up the Budget truck with all their things.  Tuesday
they are headed to Indiana.

This is part of the fabric for the next quilt we will be making for
the quilt book club.
The quilt is called Poise patch.
The fabric I chose is Tonga Treats (lemongrass) from Timeless Treasures.
The two fat quarters are for my posies that will be appliqued on the
quilt.  This will be my first time using Batiks and also appliqueing!
Wish me luck :)  The white roll is Steam a seam for the appliqued
Posies.

On the way home this evening we stopped and took a couple
of pictures of three Antelope.

I waited for a few minutes, but this one would not look up,or
around.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

on another note...
Here is my sneak peak from last nights post.

And here is the finished project!
