Guess it is high time I dusted off the ole blog!

Life has been busy lately and I have been taking a little blogging vacation…

Speaking of vacation, last month we were able to finally synchronize all our schedules!  Which meant that for the first time in between 3-4 years we got together with both Jolene and Gil at the same time.  Let me just say that made me one Happy Mama :)))  We got together in St. George UT,this photo is taken from the view on Watchman Trail in Zion National Park.  The Cherry on the top, we were also finally able to meet Carla,in person (the sweetie sitting next to Gil,his girlfriend)

As a parent one of my hopes was that my kids would grow into good caring adults.  It made me proud as throughout all our hikes,I watched Gil stop step off the trail and pick up a abandoned water bottle or other piece of trash, and place it into his backpack.

While in St. George Jolene and I spent a couple hours at Superior Threads Headquarters!  Upstairs is the fabric shop, while downstairs is this awesome warehouse filled with thread from small spools to very large cones.  As well as the offices of the administrative staff.

This is also where your online order is processed and shipped from.  All the clerks are so nice and helpful, even when you interrupt them time and again with just one more question :)

Gil and I at Fremont St in Vegas,I was so happy that he willingly posed for this shot with me!  Usually he manages to make a funny face just as the photo is snapped, but this time he didn't.

At the entrance to the container garden there is this giant praying mantis,it is very cool.  It also scared the crap out of me!  Gil and I were standing by the gate talking about it when all of a sudden it started spewing flames out of its antenni.

This is my latest bag,it is the Oh Spit Diaper bag, from the Big-City bags book by Sara Lawson.  This is  the exterior front of the bag.

The finished bag all packed up and ready to go off to its new home!

This is my second cross stitch, just finished this evening after work!  I have plans to incorporate it into a bag soon…

Vacation Pictures

As promised a few photos from vacation.
Looking at the entrance of IU,where Jolene
took us for a tour.

The Theater building.
A bus was just unloading when we were here.

Isn't this just the coolest clock?  These are in different locations
around the IU campus.

The architecture on campus is so stunningly beautiful.

Right after we picked up Gil from the airport in Indianapolis
we went to check out the War Memorial.

It is Amazing!

We didn't spend much time here tho,as Gil was starving.

So after I snapped a few quick shots we were off to find a
Cracker Barrel Restaurant.
Which Gil greatly appreciated :)

One afternoon Jolene took us all to a place not far from
where she lives.

Sorry,I can't remember the name of the place!
Anyway it is the largest Waterfall in Indiana.

The color of the water is just Gorgeous!

There is also a covered bridge.
Here are Gil and I goofing off :)

Hope you enjoyed the photos!

Happy New Year to everyone in Blog Land!
This is a Old Historic Church about 7 miles west of Gorham
and a mile of two off of I70 on the way through Kansas.

Here is a close-up of the same shot.

Looking from the road that goes in front of the Church.

We stayed the night in Blue Springs Mo.  Had a quick breakfast
of Belgian waffles and headed out on the road again

This and the shot above is the sun coming up.

The arch at St.Louis MO.
I took over driving again shortly after this,so that was it for pictures
for the day.

This morning we went to Bloomington IN,after having breakfast at
the Runcible spoon,we went on a tour of the Indiana State University,
where Jolene does her under graduate work.

I will  post some photos of the university in the next day or so.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful start to The New Year :)

Projects

This is my clothes pin keeper!
I have been wanting to make one of these since first seeing
the tutorial over at Spontaneous Threads.
So yesterday this was the project that I worked on in
the morning :)

There is a great tutorial over at SewHappyGeek :)
This is one of the Stashtactular tutorials!
It can be for just about any smallish electronic
device that you have.
The tutorial was for an I pod/I phone
since I have an I pod that is the project I did :)
The nice thing is that the tute is very easy to
follow!
I was able to whip this baby up in no time!

If you are a follower, you probably know that my parents are
visiting from California for this and next week :)
So,this is a project that my mom is working on!

She saw my Maxine napkins and decided that she would like
to make some for her and &dad to use at home.
Here is the fabric she started with.

A close-up of the above photo.
I used the applique stitch on my machine to attach the smaller
pieces of fabric to the block.

Mom kept asking me "do you think that this fabric goes
together?"
To which my reply was,mom if you like it then it goes just fine!
They are for you so make whatever you like :)

Last night I was able to get the smaller blocks all appliqued onto
the larger blocks.
The duck print is going to be the back side of the napkins.

That will be done today :)
Then it will be on to the next project!
Did I mention that I LOve VACation?!!
