Its Here,Its Here!!!

So,remember the Triple Zip Pouch Swap I joined?  Last week I posted about the Color Me Retro pouch for my partner.

Today,after work when picking up the mail,the neighbors probably thought,she has lost it!  LOL!  As soon as the return address was visible,I was jumping around and shrieking with happiness :)  Although there was not a single pouch that I would not have been proud to call my own...my fingers were crossed that this one was going to show up in my mail box!

Look at all the yummy goodies that were inside the three zips...Swoon :)

The inside of each zip is just polka dot city,Love :)

Ahhh,the strap is more polka dot sweetness,and just the right length for use as a cross body bag,Yes!  Emilee really did a Great job of Stalking me ;)  This Triple Zip could not be any more perfect!!  Thank You Sew Much Emilee,you have made a cra*** Monday turn out on such a SwEEt note :)

A little Color Me Retro...

It has been a busy first few days of the month around here,with not much sewing to show for it...

I did have time however to get another pouch sewn up for my partner!  Since she is the Silent type and has not said much,I am hoping that she will like this one...because I will be shipping it this next week.

I am so happy that Stephanie over at Quarter Incher put this swap together.  It has been so much fun!

Of course I did put my own little twist on the pouch,and changed it up just a bit.  You should head over to Flickr and check out all of the Awesome Triple Zip Pouches in this swap,they are amazing!

They say,"All good things must come to an end"  and so it is with the first round of Stash Bee.  As this is the last month.  This month we (in hive #1) were asked to sew the cross/plus block,so here is the one I will be dropping in the mail this week.

A parting shot for you... Mr P. is 5'9 as you can see the sunflower he is standing next to is a good four feet taller.  It is even taller than the roof of the trailer!  All of the sunflowers in the garden this year are volunteers,they are scattered throughout the garden.  Courtesy of the same resident squirrels,who keep depositing the peanuts all over the garden!  Of course if one of the neighbors didn't keep them in peanuts...

July Finishes for ALYOF link Party!

Here we are again people,at the tail end of yet another month!  So lets get right to what was accomplished.

First on my list was Clutches for my niece...

She wanted six,I ended up making seven,with the one for her,included in this photo.

This one,for her sis-in-law who is helping her,or being her wedding planner.

Next up,the Triple Zip Pouch,for my secret swap partner.  If she does not like this one I will make her another,as I have until the 17th of Aug,to send it.

All twenty crayon rolls that I made,because a customer at the FM requested some :)

My favorite of the three bags I made from the new pattern I tried out.

Next on my list was make soap,laundry(which I already posted about)and bar soap.  I ended up using a plastic tray with shallow circles from the recycle bin,and for the actual bar at the back,a shortening bar tray,also from the recycle bin.  This batch is scented with LemonGrass essential oil,I decided not to add any dye to my soap.  Not pictured,is a batch of Lavender scented soap.

The last item on my goals list is,start at least two Christmas projects,well,I have them cut out.  You will just have to trust me though,because I forgot to take pictures of the cut up fabric! (oops)

Did not make any more progress on this quilt after this photo,but there was at least some progress.  No progress on the Try something New,but it will happen,and when it does you will hear about it!

Make some bags from stray quilt blocks...bag number one

Bag number two,there are still 5 or 6 to go,but two is a good start.  The last two,pillowcases and list a few items,did not happen but,again,they will soon,and since they were only projects... I am okay with that.

I am tired,but happy about getting so much accomplished :)  However,this next month I plan to take it easy for a change!

ALYOF April (finishes)

Just a little over two days from now and it will be May!  That means it is time for another re ~ cap of this months goals/finishes.

Finish Goals:
Make the OOO Rah Wallet ~ Sew the rows together and quilt my row along quilt top

Firs up the OOO Rah Wallet

Although I have finished making my wallet,it is the only one made. (but I am still counting it as a finish)  The reason,with all of the fabrics/layers in this wallet it was almost impossible for me to sew through all of them!  The final top stitching around the outside of the wallet,not going to happen with my machine,even with a brand new leather needle!

Can you see how the corners are not uniform?  Even though I used the tip/trick from the pattern,with all of the bulk I was not able to get them any better than this :(  Even with all of the issues with this I really do like the pattern,and think with a couple of tweaks,it might turn out better.  So I am not giving up or ditching the pattern just yet...

Here it is today!  Where is the star row,you ask?  Well I decided to put it on the back side of the quilt :)

A tablet keeper,which an ipad would fit in perfectly,I plan to alter the pattern and make attempt to make some different sizes.  This was made with a mini charm pack of Tapestry and Kona Sand for the solid.

A look at the inside,this stripe fabric is not my first choice,but since I am trying to use fabrics from my stash...  The spline was made with squares I made from the triangles cut off to make the larger squares.  Sorry I don't have an ipad,so can't show you how it fits.

Last but most certainly not least is a stuffy,whose pattern has been patiently waiting on one of my pinterest boards :)  You can find the pattern here,if you want to make one of your own!  This one will be heading over to Hopeful Threads blog for the monthly project.  This month it was for foster kids,and even though I really wanted to participate,I did not commit,because I was not sure if time would permit.

Whew!  It has been a busy month!  Off to see what else I can accomplish before it is over.  Have a great week,hope to post mid week again :)

Stitching Zips

On my last trip to the thrift store,zippers were tops on my list,the first store was a bust.  The second store had the jackpot tho!

Believe it or not there are there are 23 zippers in the photo above!  At 45 cents a piece they were a steal.

The center zippy pouch was the first one,after making it I decided that they would be much better if they were lined on the inside.  So for the rest of them,I folded the fabric wrong sides together before stitching the zippers to the fabric  If you would like to make some of these for yourself or the kiddos,you can find the Tutorial Here on the Zip It blog.

Although there was not time Friday evening to work on raising barns 3 & 4,I did get to them on Saturday afternoon/evening.

You had to know that sooner or later there would be a green barn,right? ;)  The quilt on the side of this one is called Mosaic 24,and is from my quilt Block Tool purchased from Joann's during a clearance sale.  It is handy,because it has cutting instructions for several different sizes of quilt blocks.

Since I was playing with zippers yesterday,this Triple Zip Pouch that has been on my list for a while was just the obvious next project.  Besides,I need a new pouch for spring/summer!

These prints were picked up last year when we were in Taos for our Anniversary weekend.  I have been hoarding them and petting them,waiting for the right project to use them in :)  In case you did not know I Love southwestern prints,and Kokopelli is my favorite!

No need to carry a pouch for my sunglasses now,they will fit in the center zip!

Also managed to sew the rows together for my row quilt this weekend,now to get it quilted.
