A little Green

Today it was all about the Garden,no time for sewing, maybe tomorrow....

The bed in the foreground has 3 different pepper plants off to the left.  There are also snow peas, and cucumbers not coming up yet.  Soon there will be Kale in this bed too.  The bed in the background has blueberries next to the fence, they are kind of scraggly tho.  My lemon basil is not doing to well either :(  The cinnamon basil is doing good,as is the lettuce,so far the beets are not up yet.

The radishes are getting close to being ready!  Would you look at those tomatoes?  I sure hope that we get a good crop again this year!  The blue barrel has my chocolate mint, which is doing great.

The squash, red, and walla walla onions are doing good,as well as the elephant garlic.  My tarragon is doing okay.  What I don't get is why my peony always gets so big and bushy, but never blooms!?

Check out the sunflowers!  These are all volunteers, crazy huh?  They are doing way better than the ones I planted from seed out front!
A parting shot of Midas and his friend (the next door neighbors cat) Boo,hanging out by my two gold leaf spirea plants!

Fair Day

Today was the craft fair!
Thank Goodness I decided to load up all my things
yesterday evening after work.  Why you ask?
Well we woke up to about 5 inches of snow this morning!
It snowed most of the day too.

This is the left side of my little booth at the fair.  Mr. P
is such a sweet guy,he packed everything in for me :)

The right side of my booth.
Sorry about the quality of the photos, but I took
them with my phone.

We had a very successful day at the fair!  YaY!!!
Although some of the things that I thought would
sell well,didn't sell,or sold poorly.
Some of the things I didn't think would sell well did!

Go figure!  It just goes to show you never can tell
what will and what will not sell well.
Which is why you need to have a variety of items!

This is a little barbed wire tree that another one of the
vendors at the fair was selling.  They had all different sizes,
some were decorated,some were not.
The ones that were decorated cost an extra five dollars.
I just had to have one,but I will decorate it myself :)

Sorry,I was just to lazy tired to do that this evening.
When we had packed up and were on the way home I
noticed that the outside temp was around 16 degrees!
At 4:30 in the afternoon, mind you!
Hope it is warmer where you are :)

Friday Mr. P had the deer inside assembling them.  Midas was
so curious :)  However, every time I tried to snap a good picture of
him he would move at the last second.  He is very good for doing
that!  Sooner or later tho I will be quicker than he is :)

Last up is the Christmas Block I received from one of my partners
for this month.

I Love all the Geese :)
Have a great Sunday!!

Fall Scarecrow mini quilt & other sewing

First up,the Fall mini quilt that I made today.
Midas decided that I needed some help with this photo,so he
jumped up on the bed to help :)

I finally persuaded him that his help was not needed.  So he
turned his attention to the mini-blind rod on the bed beside
the quilt.

Here it is in its new home.  The lighting made it hard to get a
good photo!

Next up is a tortilla warmer that I made for Jolene.
The pattern from Teachers Pet,that I used only called
for warm & natural in-between the two bottom pieces.

I am not happy with how this turned out,so will be making
another one with another piece of batting added to the two
top pieces as well.
The whole idea is to keep the tortillas warm, and without
the batting in the top pieces,I don't think that the tortillas
will stay warm for long.

Next up are some bath towels that have been sitting
in my to do pile, for a year now!
It was high time for me to get these done.
The first set is a dusky blue, which I added a strip of
duck fabric to.

The second set is also  blue, but a lighter shade.
On this set I added some fishing fabric.

Next up is my favorite set.  This set is white and
I found a perfect strip of Christmas fabric with
candy on it. :)

Lastly is a deep red/burgundy color set.  For
these I added a strip of fall harvest fabric.
It feels great to finally move these to the done
area of my sewing room :)
I still have one more single white towel to do,but I
haven't decided if yet wither or not to purchase another
towel,or just make a single one.

These will be going to the craft fair with me on the 22nd
of this month.
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend :)
I am off to watch some football with Mr. P,while making
a pile of yoyos!

Pics of Midas & some sewing

Today after work Midas finally was still long enough for a
couple of pictures!
In this one it looks like he is talking,as his mouth is open.

See my plant there covered with plastic?  It seams that Midas
thinks that this (and my other large planters are an alternative
litter box!  NOT!  So for now the plastic will stay, and Midas
will stay Out!

There was a squirrel running back and forth on the fence outside
the windows.  Midas was trying to figure out how to get beyond
the window to the squirrel.  It was quite comical!

This is a project that I worked on this evening.  It is not quite
finished yet.  Although it is all quilted and bound.
More on that later.

Here is a view of the backside.
I just used a zigzag stitch to quilt it with, because the front side
has printed zigzags in between the snowman and the other blocks.
As you can see from the photo I need a whole lot more practice
in the binding area of quilting.
So I will just keep practicing.

Meet Midas

Midas is my new BFF :)
He was on the Humane society's poster a couple weeks ago
when,I decided to cut through the pet department
to get around some customers blocking the main aisle.
Of course I glanced at the poster as I walked by!
(so it was meant to be,right?)
Yep,I thought so too!

Friday, yesterday, was one week since he came to live with us :)
When we let him out of the carrier he bolted for the nearest hiding
place!  Which was behind the furnace, when he finally ventured out
he then darted behind the refrigerator.

He spent mos of the week alternately hiding either
under the couch or under the bed.
About mid-week he started jumping up on the bed after
we had turned out all the lights!
But as soon as one of us would move he was off the bed in a
flash!
Finally last night he let me pet him! :)

However,he decides when, and then jumps down and runs and
hides.  LOL!
He is a little cutie tho,and I am sure that he will eventually
stop running and hiding!
