It is amazing the difference just a couple of days makes! If this were any other month, there would still be a few days left,to squeak out another small project or two. Since this isn't any other month...
First up is my ultimate goal for the month. Gothic Windows. Although the sun was very cooperative today, the wind was a whole different story. So the photos were snapped off in a hurry, before the quilt ended up in the dirt and patches of snow still on the ground!
A close up of one of the individual blocks/windows,and a bit of the quilting too.
As you can see,I decided to use more than just a little Kona black on the back.
The back side has two of the individual window blocks on it. I like the back a lot,and think you could even use it as the front also.
A better look at one of the windows on the back side. Love the text print included in this block! What a great feeling,to remove this one from the "UFO" list and place it in the "Finished" column :0)
Next up for this month was to get caught up on the row along. This is the row I was behind on,they are all sewed together now!
This was the next row spools, and baskets have been posted! I am hoping to get those sewn up this weekend,as the next row will be posted Wednesday or Thursday of this coming week.
Also made and sent out my Stash Bee block for this month. Such a cute one,it would look great on a tote bag wouldn't it?
Two blocks for the Skill Builder (button on my side bar) this one is EM Dash.
The Mood,is the second block for this month,in the skill builder.
Pin cushion not only started, but also finished! I have one more in the works, but time is running out,so not sure if it will get finished in time. I am going to try and get it done though.
The last finished item for this month is this little basket/purse organizer. It now sits on my sewing table :0) Whew, what a short busy month it has been around here!
Linking up over at The February Finishes Party!

Microscopic to Gigantic
Here we are at the tail end of the month again! Is it me,or is this year off to a flying leap? Last evening after dinner I went to cut and sew on the binding for Gothic Windows...
I made this instead :0) It is one of the two (I hope) pin cushions that will be heading out to my swap person! The geese are around 3/4 of an inch by about an inch and a quarter. They turned out nicely! She loved the photo posted on FB today :0)
This evening,I did cut the binding strips and sew them on! So,after this one gets washed and dried, and weather permitting, there will be more photos and a link up tomorrow!

Pincushions & Rulers
In my last post,I mentioned a Anniversary gift should be arriving in my mail box soon...
Yesterday they were waiting patiently for me to come and get them! Mr. P had been asking me almost daily, what do you want for an anniversary gift? My response was, haven't decided yet... until the day before when Lori Holt posted on her blog that her rulers where finally available! Too bad that I have to wait to play with them :( Not for too long though :0)
My good friend Melissa and I are in a swap group on FB,called Sew,Share,Swap, this quarter she got my name! These beauties are what she made especially for me :0) I still need to get back to the one I amworking on should be working on for my swap person! As soon as my project for this month is done...
Speaking of said project,as it is right now the measurements are about 53x57 I have been sewing together scraps of batting to get it finished. I would like to add a border, but am not sure if I have enough scraps of batting left to do that! Do you girls/guys think it would look okay with out one? The LQS opens at noon tomorrow,so I could buy some more if need be,but I was trying to get by with out spending any more $ this month. (because that would put me over my allowance for the month)

Its all about me
Last night Mary Ann from Rocknquilts sent me an email to let me know that she had bestowed on my little blog...
The Liebster Award! (Thank You Mary Ann)
Q & A (Mary Ann's questions for me & my answers)
Q. What got you started sewing and quilting?
A. Both my mom and grandmother sewed, but I didn't until 9th grade Home Economics class. Where I sewed a blue velour top for mom. Fast forward to when I was expecting Jolene, this is when I really started sewing :0)
Q. How long have you been selling items on etsy?
A. my shop SewCeLynn opened in fall of 2011. Before that I sold on eBay for a couple of years. My etsy shop has been slow starting, but since it is a hobby its all good!
Q. What is the most challenging quilt you have ever made?
A. Although the center piece of my currant quilt,Gothic Windows, was quite the challenge... The bee in my bonnet row along which I am presently participating in has been very challenging for me. Probably because a lot of the pieces are quite small.
Q. Is there anything you haven't tried yet as far as patterns go,but would like to make one day?
A. The list is pretty much endless,as I am adding new things all the time! One would be a Dresden Plate quilt.
Q. Have you ever made a quilt to give away to someone?
A. Yes,one for mom a couple weeks ago,one for Gil last year.. I have also made and donated a few quilts.
Q. What do you make besides quilts?
A. Pretty much anything that piques my interest, from potholders to fabric checkers games. A Big favorite of mine is tote bags and purses/pouches :0)
Q. What is your favorite color,or color scheme?
A. Most everyone who knows me knows that Green is my all time favorite color! Lately,I have been leaning towards some colors that would have never been found in my stash previously. Such as orange,yellow,pink...
Q. Which do you like best, purses or perfume?
A. Purses, hands down. (I am allergic to perfume)
Q. What is your favorite brand of sewing machine?
A. Janome,I have a 8077 home model & dream of a Horizon...
Q. Where do you purchase most of your sewing and quilting items?
A. Although we do have a LQS,most of my items are purchased in the city. Mainly because the selection is so much more varied. For tools it is Jo Ann's w/50% coupons!
Q. Have you ever purchased anything from an etsy shop?
A. Yes,most recently,my Anniversary gift! Which I will be posting about as soon as it arrives in my mailbox :0)

A Lovely Year of Finishes ~ Mid-month check in
It has been another busy week here, mostly getting caught up on my sewing projects :0) Which is a good thing since it is once again time for our Mid-month check in over at Melissa's blog!
Here is what I have accomplished so far, which is pretty good since it was all accomplished this past week!
Get caught back up on my row along quilt (all caught up)
Make Stash Bee block for this month (made & mailed)
Start on Pin Cushion for Swap on FB (started)
Posted about that Here.
Although this was not one of the things on my list for this month,it has been on my list since purchasing the pattern last year.
A peek inside.
These will not be showing up in my shop, they are way to much work, but I am making one for myself. When it is finished I will post a picture for you :0)
Three new items for my shop (not even started, yet)
The most important item on the list Gothic Windows Quilt...
This is what it looked like at the beginning of the month...
This is what it looked like this afternoon! Super Excited about that :0))) The center has been my only focus this weekend, what a job that has been! Let me just say that math is not only not my best subject,it is my worst subject!! Needless to say there are numerous pieces of fabric that went into the the scrap basket. Some of them were used to make the top and bottom strips wide enough.(since I had cut up all the fabric figuring out the correct dimensions)
You can just see that the center strip is all quilted in the photo. Earlier this evening I was able to get the bottom strip about 80% quilted! There is still a lot to do,but now that the math is done it doesn't seem quite as daunting a task to get finished by the end of the month :0)
Also was able to finish both my skill builder blocks for this month. The one above is the EM Dash.
This one is called The Mood, later this month or early next month they both need to be quilted. Along with the first two blocks.
Hope you all had a great weekend, whatever you did :0) Have a great week!

Sew,sew,sew,
Hey all,did you miss me in blog land? I sure missed reading my favorite blogs, and am hoping to get caught up soon! The first week of vacation was a lot of driving, and visiting family. The visiting part was great, the driving part not so much...
This week I have been trying to stay off here and get some of my sewing goals completed. Which is going pretty good :0)
Before I show my progress so far though... One Happy Mom and her quilt!! The lighting where we stayed was not very good, but good enough for a couple of photos for my album :0)
Magnum Block for the skill builder QAL I joined, both this one and the Sound Wave block still need to be quilted, but at least they are pieced!
My February Bee block,Pippi Longstalking! Even though I chopped off her feet (oops) this one is still super cute :0) I plan on making more Pippi blocks in the future.
Row 10 in my row along, little Houses. Although the blocks themselves are about 6.5x8.5 there are 20 little pieces that make up each block.
Welcome to my "Quilters Neighborhood"! Only five houses on this street, mine is the one at the right end.
Surprised that my house is not in the green prints? Me too,but as you can see there are still plenty of green prints on some of the other houses.
Row 11,something that all us quilters use by the Spool! Yes,Spools of Thread.
I decided to make my thread spools look like antique wooden spools, they turned out rather nicely.
Last night Jolene, helped my with some things on my computer,so this morning while typing up this post I decided to play around a bit with the photos.
Lastly,a tease photo for my swap person on FB! Hope everyone is having a super week with at least a little sewing thrown in :0)

A Year of Lovely Finishes (February Edition)
Happy Friday :0) Did January fly by for you too? If it is any indicator of how the year is going to go,it will be December in no time! Or maybe,it just seemed to go by faster than usual because it was a very busy and productive month. Either way into February...
(remember these)
It is time to put down in writing what our sewing/finishing goals are for this month. You can check out all the finishes to be here on Melissa's blog
My projects to finish up,or start and finish are as follows...

It is time to put down in writing what our sewing/finishing goals are for this month. You can check out all the finishes to be here on Melissa's blog
My projects to finish up,or start and finish are as follows...
- Finish up my Stash Bee Quilt (Gothic Windows) blocks pictured above
- Get caught back up on my row along quilt (behind by one row)
- make Stash Bee block for this month
- at least start on pincushion for FB swap (due in mid March)
- Make & list at least 3 new items for my etsy shop
- New Totes (I have a pattern/design idea, this ties in with the 3 new items)
Here are some of my Gothic Windows blocks sewn into rows.
The fabrics pulled for the backing on the quilt,I might also add Kona black to the mix..
Some of these might work for one of the new items in my shop. It is a necklace made from fabric.
We shall see how much I actually get done! The Major goal is to finish up the Gothic Windows Quilt. Since I am now Officially on Vacation (but will not be home from tomorrow until next Sunday late) I hope to make a lot of progress during the second week!
Enjoy your weekend :0)
