Trail of Diamonds table runner

Well,I must have been living under a rock lately!  I had not a clue that today was the start of Giveaway Day Week!  Hopefully I can put something together before the end of the week...

This morning before heading out to work I snapped off a couple shots of my latest project!  Why yes that is snow on my deck,on the 12th of May...  The only good thing about spring snow is that it melts off fast :)

As you can see it still needs to be bound, but the quilting is all done!  Hoping to finish it this week.  Any thoughts on the binding?  Should I use solids and make it scrappy,or maybe more batik fabric?

I spent part of my mothers day sewing up this little pouch.  The pattern can be found in the summer issue of  Quilts & More.

I made mine scrappy :)  This is a great little pouch for when you only want to pack the essentials.  Everything in the photo fits in the pouch, and you could fit a couple more little items in it too.

Hope you have a great week :)!

Finally back

I know it has been a long time, but I have been very busy.

Last month my friend Melissa posted a tutorial for Christmas Diamonds, the table runner in the photo above.  I love triangle blocks,so could not resist making one for myself!  The tutorial is easy to follow and in short order this one was done :)

Remember my Nutcracker blocks late this summer?  Well, they finally came up in my pile of things to get finished up!  I am really happy with how this runner turned out, mostly because I Love Nutcrackers :)

See you tomorrow evening with my contribution to the December Edition of

I'm back (finally!)

Did you guys/gals miss me?
Sorry for not getting a post up sooner, this was a busy week.
What with Gil home until yesterday,I just had other priorities
this week.

There were a couple of nights when Gil and Mr. P were playing
video games,so I took advantage of that and snuck off to get
in a little sewing time!

The above photo is my week # 2 project for the After Christmas
Sew Along over at Sew Much 2 Luv

Here is a photo of my inspiration for this project.
Back in October/November I had purchased 2 different Fast
& Furious books.
This project is called "Lucky Charms",because you use charm
squares to make it.

The center inside of the white is the original pattern.  I decided
that it was to small and needed something more.  My first idea
was just to add the  prairie  points, but that made it way to busy,
so I added the white border to break it up a little.

The quilting is just straight lines with a zig zag around the outer
edge, which I think ties in with the prairie points.

Vacation was Great and Short too!  Well not really short, but it
felt like it ;)
Will post some more vacation photos soon :)
