Since it is a new month,I wanted to start off by showing my scrap cutting progress. This bin was on the verge of overflowing at the beginning of last month!
This pouch is actually made with some of the same fabrics (on the outside)as my Swoon block. The colors are not showing up correctly though. I was thinking of sending this along with the larger pouch, but unless I can fix the zipper tabs that will not happen :(
After the zipper tabs fail on the above pouch,I decided more practice was in order. (also,I plan on selling these at fairs later this year) So,here are the ten sewn up this week, practice definitely makes better.
Thought you might like to see the main fabrics used for them too. Yes Hot Wheels,as well as a camping themed one too! This last summer several guys stopped by my booth to shop, and I decided that there should be some "guy"fabrics included in my products. Besides, some girls like those things too ;)
All of the above pouches, were made from my smaller than a FQ bin, since I was on a roll...here are another 30 kits all cut and ready to be sewn up! This idea came to me while making the first ten pouches. I like it,and plan on doing this with a lot of my staple items. Although it takes quite a while to do all the cutting,it will be nice to just grab a kit and sew it up.
Hope you have a great weekend, without too much snow or bad weather :) See you tomorrow with my February goals.

December Advent Calendar
Happy December Peeps! Can you believe it? Are you ready,or not? Me neither, but hope to be soon :)
Remember this sneak peak from the other day? Any guesses as to what they are?
How about now?! An Advent Calendar has been on my to do list for a couple years now, well not any more! After looking and looking some more I finally decided to make up my own pattern/version. Overall I am very happy with how it turned out :) The only thing I am changing is,the numbers. The glitter paint I used was hardly visible after it dried :( So I took it all off, what a chore that was... So now I need to add numbers back on my little envelopes, but haven't decided what to use yet. (will let you know when the decision is made) Suggestions are Welcome :)
A close-up of the first little envelope, this is before the glitter paint dried.
My advent calendar is going to have little cards in each envelope, with something to do each day :) I made the cards from gray card stock. All of the envelopes were made using scraps of christmas fabric! Sweet, right? Love scrap busters, how about you?
If anyone is interested, and I have time,I might do a tutorial...

Can't see the forest for the Trees...
Hey everybody, has your week flown by too? Have you started to think about your Christmas Card List yet? Well if you haven't,I have a super cute idea for you! This would be a great memory making project for you and the kids/grandkids.
All you will need are 4 items/supplies to craft up some homemade Christmas cards! You could do anything from trees, snowmen, santa, stars, bells, gingerbread men,or any other Christmas shape you can think of.
Supplies needed:
Fold your card stock in half,or if you would like smaller cards, you could cut it in half first, and then fold each piece in half. Then let the kids/your imagination go :)
My cards are all trees, because the scraps used were all triangle-ish shapes. As I am sure you have noticed, they are also all wonky trees,or you could call them Charlie Brown Trees :) Yes,I planed it that way, since nothing in this world is ever really "perfect".
A close up for you! With Christmas Break/vacation coming up,you will be having to think of projects to keep the kids busy. I would love to see your handmade Christmas cards :)

Sugar and Spice in a box
The minute I first saw a boxy pouch in blog land,it went onto my, I want to sew that List! Of course that was sometime last year... This weekend it was finally time to make one of these cute little pouches. What can a girl say, when the list is long, keeps getting longer, and rearranged, sometimes on a daily basis!
Actually,I just started off playing around with my scraps of Sugar and Spice. A few weeks ago some of those scraps were turned into two string blocks. So Saturday ten more of those little guys were sewn up :) They are 5 x 5 (charm) squares. I love this line, and have a hard time throwing away even the smallest pieces. So,after squaring the charms up,the leftover pieces were used to make some smaller blocks.
The inside seam still needs to be hand sewn closed, because it seems that it is time to restock on some colors of thread! Although this little pouch turned out much smaller than planned,I am loving it :) The measurements are 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 3.
My little boxy pouch started out as a braided block, another one checked off the list! This is quite fun to sew up and so easy too :) There are two more waiting to become boxy pouches!
Here are all the little goodies that came out of scraps!!! One 4 1/2 inch block, one 5 x 5 block, one 3 1/2 block, two 2 blocks, twelve 2 1/2 blocks, and lastly twelve 5 x 5 (charm) string blocks. There are still some scraps left to play with ;) They just might find their way into a future giveaway :)
