This months goal is to finish up all of the circles for the Candy Beads quilt,started while at Fabric Fest last month. Progress so far,all of the 5" & 7" circles done! Just need to get the 10"circles finished.
Although that might seem like an easy goal to some,this has been a super busy month at work so far.(there have been very few days that have not included overtime) Then there are also two Secret projects that are in the works,one due by the beginning of next month,one due on the 12th.

Stocking stuffers, besides some good old fashioned candy canes and chocolate I like making little envelopes or pouches to put gift cards in.

ReplyDeleteI have picked up several different mugs with nice big handles that I am planning to make mug rugs to coordinate with the mug and include a snack or drink mix to go along.
ReplyDeleteLittle zip pouches. You could even fill them with small candies. I like pot holders as small gifts as well. And a friend of mine really wants a quilted cover to put on a curling iron so she can put it in her suitcase before it's had time to cool.
ReplyDeleteInstead of stocking stuffers for the little kids this year (great nieces and nephews) I am making the stockings them selves with print fabric from there themes they have in their rooms or their favorite color.

ReplyDeleteI made all the ladies tissue covers (for the little handy packs of tissues, not a big box!) a couple of years ago and they seemed to go down well. They'd work for kids too if you made monster ones, I just didn't have any kids on my list.

ReplyDeleteDid you get Lori Holt's new book? I ordered it a while ago and just got it in the mail on Friday. It is really good, and I liked seeing all the photos in person instead of just on the computer.
I would love a little coin purse or an infinity scarf made of voile. I do like what one commenter said about making handmade ornaments for each child. I wish I had thought of that when my kids were a little younger so they could have one from each year, but maybe I'll start that this year. But I think I might like the look of felt ornaments better than fabric, I'm not sure.
Sorry to hear work is so busy! I was just at the store with my husband on date night and they've put self checkout in the very front. LOVE it! Hope things don't continue to get too crazy until December.

I am making placemats--for adults, something they collect or are interested in. For kids, animals, birthday, holiday, bycicle,etc.
